As native of the Chicago area, Maurita Holmes EdD has always had a passion for meeting new people and creating unique living spaces within a city with so much rich culture and promise. This Chicago enthusiast was always very inquisitive; therefore, her thirst for knowledge didn’t fall short of her earning a Master’s degree in Public Administration, a Masters in Geography and Economic Development, a Doctorate in Educational Leadership, and a certification in Community Development. Maurita knows the importance of building strong communities. She is actively involved with a variety of civic and professional institutions throughout Chicago. Her love for community outreach includes her role as the President of Lyric Foundation, which serves at-risk youth and families in Chicago land communities.
Maurita is on a mission to put theory into practice and bring her love of people and community together. She has witnessed firsthand the challenges and obstacles associated with purchasing a new home, which is why she decided to transition into real estate.
She endeavors to develop stronger communities by helping her clients find an amazing space to call home. Customer service is her number one priority. She wants her clients to feel heard, informed and supported throughout the entire process. Enjoying the journey and the excitement that goes along with house hunting is an experience she strives to create while helping clients find their true gem.

Projects & Developments: Bella Noir Real Estate & Development

Bella Noir LLC believes in giving back. We believe that everyone should have equal access and opportunity to be successful in today’s society. Many Americans face persistent gaps in wealth and opportunity that prevent them from reaching their full potential, which in turn hinders them from contributing fully to their communities and the economy. Disparities undermine productivity and economic potential of many African American communities across the nation. We believe every citizen within these communities are entitled to have the opportunity to be safe, healthy, educated, and prepared to succeed on their chosen path.
Bella Noir LLC takes a comprehensive approach to improving the vitality and aesthetic quality of residential and commercial properties, provide a safer pedestrian environment, and to ensure continued economic revitalization of the many communities our development team invests in. We envision, we plan, we design, we build. Currently we are working on projects to revitalize the Bronzeville community on Chicago’s south side. Stay tuned for more information on our upcoming projects.
